We walked through the town of Menton, France today, which is on the border with Italy.
Caleb and I reflected on a giant metallic shark statue on the roof of the Musée Océanographique de Monaco.
Yesterday we stayed local, did some laundry, played, and went for a walk though Santo Stefano Belbo. Today we’re heading back down south to Liguria and the sea.
The view over the outskirts of Santo Stefano Belbo.
We visited the largest collection of Egyptian artifacts outside of Egypt in Torino today. Caleb loved the mummies!
Caleb was photographing a medieval church in Alba. We’re up North for a few days, before heading back to Bordighera and the sea!
The sun was setting as we played in the Mediterranean Sea tonight over Italy, France & Monaco, all of which are in this shot. This trip for me hasn’t really been about taking a simple vacation. This has been about discovering more about my family’s history. I keep going back to that line in the song, “Radioactive” by Kings of Leon (sung by “Big Caleb” as we call him).
“It’s in the water…It’s in the story of where you came from”
For me, these are the waters of half my story.
